Organise your fringe

Updated: Mar 20, 2022

1. Clean and discard!

The first step is cleanliness and ... garbage. Thoroughly clean the refrigerator (after all, it is a job we do not do every day) and throw away the spoiled vegetables and meat, the expired sauces and everything else that takes up space unfairly.

2. Baskets everywhere

Get plastic baskets and fill the fridge with them. For even greater convenience, put on the outside that list their contents.

Find baskets HERE .

You can choose printed labels or write them yourself .

3. No perishable food at the door

The refrigerator door is its hottest spot. Therefore, avoid putting all perishable foods there. Indicatively, milk, eggs and cheeses prefer to put them on the shelves to preserve them longer.

Soft drinks, wine and anything else that does not need much cooling, can enter the door without fear.

4. Shaker for ... anything!

How many shakers do you have left over? Do not throw them away! Use them as upright tapers. They are ideal for chopped vegetables and fruits and take up minimal space. Besides, you can take them as they are for work or give them to the child for breakfast.

Similarly for salads, use clear glass jars that will keep them fresh for more days.

5. The leftovers on the high shelves

The food that you have "run out" from the previous day, put it in a taper and then place it on the highest shelves.

So, you will not forget it and nothing will be lost.

The same goes for sensitive foods that expire immediately. Organization and saving money together!

6. Organize meals in groups

For even more convenience, you can arrange the refrigerator in groups, where it is convenient. You can, for example, have only the toast ingredients in one basket. This way, you will not have to look elsewhere for the cheese and the ham.

7. Meat and vegetables in place

There is a reason that all refrigerators have two spacious cabinets at the bottom. One is for vegetables and the other for meat. So, follow the ... instructions of your refrigerator and do not let it take up unnecessary space on the shelves.

Also, avoid mixing. Do not put vegetables, fruits and meat in the same cupboard because if any of them spoil, there is a risk that the "infection" will be transmitted to others.

8. Save more space

Tomatoes, potatoes and onions have no place in the fridge. Instead, store them in a shady place in the kitchen.

Also take out the cans, which of course do not need refrigeration, only after you open them. The same goes for ketchup, mustard and any other kind of sauce, which until opened, can be stored in a cupboard outside the refrigerator.

9. Additional shelves for the refrigerator

If your refrigerator is small or you need more space, buy some extra, sliding shelves that "hook" on regular shelves. A good idea to have the child's delicacies collected and to have his

own ... space, even there!
